Buttercream Frosting For Cake. Add softened butter and vanilla to the mixing bowl and mix until completely combined. Then move mixer up to medium-high speed.
Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time. Use a piping bag fitted with desired tip to pipe flowers onto parchment paper.
Mix the powdered sugar and the cake mix on low until they are combined.
Add in vanilla and cream or milk and mix on low speed until incorporated.
Place mixture in a large bowl and whip with an electric mixer on medium speed to lighten. Scrape the sides of the bowl down and repeat until all of the icing sugar has been added. Add the sifted powdered sugar a spoonful at a time over medium-low speed.
