Natural diamonds are the result of carbon exposed to tremendous heat and pressure deep in the earth. Five factors play a significant role in how a diamond is graded, and how its "score" on the diamond clarity chart is determined. Diamond color is measured using the GIA color scale, from D to Z - color D is colorless, and Z is yellowish or brown.
An inclusion is an internal or external characteristic or flaw which occurs during the Earth's natural process of diamond formation.
